glue’s Enterprise Service Method defines glue’s comprehensive service delivery method which allows organisations to consistently and repeatedly define Enterprise Services within a design paradigm of service-orientation that is aligned to (such that it can be governed by) glue’s Enterprise Service Architecture (gESA).

gESM takes a service through a 6 phase maturity lifecycle, from Service Identification (where services are identified in line with either an Enterprise Architecture project portfolio or a Business Process Architecture) through Service Profiling (where services are categorised, prioritised dependency and risk assessed), Service Modeling, Construction Deployment and Support.

glue: Enterprise Service Method High-Level Overview

Fundamental to gESM is glue’s DICE Framework for Service Modeling. DICE provides a consistent and finely grained framework for the definition of each facet (or face) of a service.

By breaking down a service in this way, glue is able to understand a number
of detailed aspects of the service, including:

The capability the service exposes.
Any underlying application capability that is exposed through the service.
The corporate data artefacts that are used to interact with the service.
Any mediation required to transform corporate data artefacts into application data artefacts.
The contracts and policies supported by the service.
The states a service may be in at a given point within its consumption.
